Charity seek golf day boost
CALM'S 15th annual golf day will be held at Wrag Barn on Thursday, June 26 and the charity is hoping for strong support from both men and lady golfers and from the local business community.
Teams of four players will play an 18-hole stableford competition in the afternoon, as well as a nine-hole Texas scramble event in the morning.
There are also a number of smaller competitions including target golf and plenty of prize winning opportunities, including a prize draw and auction in the evening.
Organisers are keen to receive items to auction and prizes for the draw, and any donations or company sponsorship will be most welcome - particularly anyone wishing to sponsor a hole or advertise in the programme to be produced on the day.
The Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Movement is a local charity for the Swindon Health area only, run totally voluntarily since 1984.
None of the funds raised go out to pay for salaries or office accommodation - everything goes to help the children and their families.
CALM can have over 20 children on treatment for cancer or leukaemia at any one time, and aim to support the whole family both during treatment and in the stressful period after treatment ends or after bereavement
