The Dettol Foundation Makes a Case for Community Support

Since 2004, The Dettol Foundation has worked with local charities and community groups in the Swindon Borough to make a difference to families and young children.

The Dettol Foundation presented a cheque for £300 to 'CALM', an independent Swindon Borough based charity providing care to children and the families of children suffering with Leukaemia and Cancer. Now in its 20th year, CALM endeavours to improve the quality of life of the child suffering and support their families - who also go through immense physical and psychological strain — both during and after treatment. The charity is run on a voluntary basis by parents and families of sufferers.

CALM spent the funds on much needed days out for the children and their families.

"It's great to get support from local businesses and we'd like to thank The Dettol Foundation for their donation. Days out for the children and their families are really important and a great way for them to have a bit of 'time out' together during the difficult times."

– Don Mc Arthur,
CALM Chairman
