CALM fundraiser

The ladies holding the kneelers An Evening of Entertainment recently held in St. Michael's Church, which raised the marvellous sum of £700 in aid of CALM, was organised by Lynn Vardy and John Williams, with the refreshments organised by Gillian Miller and members of the Highworth Evening WI.

The evening was well attended and everyone enjoyed the performances by the Southfield Junior School, the Musical Theatre Students (courtesy of the Judith Hockaday School) led by Fiona Fleet and the Warneford School Band. Lynn Vardy read childhood poems of yesteryear and the evening ended with scenes from Alice in Wonderland - the Three Queens and the Madhatter’s Tea Party.

CALM is an independent local charity, for the Swindon Health area, that supports all local families who have a child suffering from cancer or leukaemia - there are 15 to 20 children being treated at any one time, all facing a tough challenge.
